We abide at
all times abide by current Health and
Safety/COSHH legislation. This is all part
of the Practice achieving the very
privileged status of an Approved Practice
under the British Small Animal Veterinary
Association/ RCVS strict practice standards.
This looks after Staff, equipment and the
premise's facilities for the greater care of
yourself and your companion animals as well
as making the workplace a safe and
stimulating environment. Tracy Campbell, RVN,
heads up the nursing arm of the Practice; we
are supported by Chris, the Practice
Manager, with Melanie and the
Office/Reception team. They are all here to
offer advice, compassion and care, on and
off-duty. As the Practice is essentially
founded on a one-to-one relationship, for
consultations and our well-pet clinics and
puppy and kitten parties, there is an
on-going programme of supporting training to
enhance their own skills and internal
Practice communication, so that you will
always be made to feel welcome whatever time
and day of the week as you get to know us!
Our Autumn and Winter series of Client
Evenings, as well as celebrations for
National Pet Week (May) and National Cat
Week (September) and Pet Smile Month
(varies), plus quarterly Newsletters and
complimentary 6/18/30 month... check-ups....
all help to develop confidence in each
other.
This Practice
provides a 24-hour service, 365 (or 366!)
days of the year, using GWR for all the
out-of-hours problems. During the working
day, urgent appointments and emergencies can
be seen immediately upon pre-warned arrival,
so that we will have already had the
opportunity to talk to waiting and incoming
clients with appointments to organize space
in the Practice schedule and to have
equipment prepared for the incoming problem.
Remember, if you are not sure that you have
an urgent or emergency problem, it's best to
telephone for direction and advice rather
than wait for any genuine situation to
deteriorate dangerously ....that's part of
our service commitment and care to yourself
and your pet.
In summary,
you should seek professional advice:
-
When your
pet appears ill or you are worried about
his or her general condition and
demeanour
-
For
critical and emergency cases such as
motor vehicle injuries of any kind,
collapse, severe or persistent vomiting
or diarrhoea, fitting especially if
continuous, as well as for fight wounds,
abscesses and lameness
-
When you
wish to discuss any matter related to
preventative medical and surgical care
as outlined earlier, such as neutering,
Identichipping, worming, de-fleaing (an
all year requirement) and diets.
Our Practice Charities are
Cats Protection (West Oxfordshire), Labrador
Rescue, Trindledown Farm (NAWT) and (Gerald)
Durrell Wildlife Trust. |
